In this tutorial I am going to show you in a few simple steps, how to install maps/saves from the internet in order to play them ingame.
(1) Download the map:
(I) Download |
(2) Open »%appdata%«:
Search in Windows [left corner] for »%appdata%«
(II) Windows search |
Click on the folder:
(III) Open folder |
(3) Go to path: /minecraft/saves:
Normally it should be this path:
C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves
Right here you can see all of your ingame worlds.
(4) Put your downloaded map into the folder.
(5) Extracting:
Right-click your downloaded map and click »extract here«
! Note: This is only possible if you've installed »winrar«. It is a programm to compress and decompress files. The reason why maps are downloaded in such winrar-files (with file ending ».rar«) is because you are able to upload one single file.
If you haven't installed »winrar« yet, please click here to download.
(IV) Extracting file |
»winrar« |
